Hermes.

‘bringer of dreams, a watcher by night, a thief at the gates’ — Homeric Hymns

Mercury, attributed to Adriaen de Vries, in the rotunda of the National Gallery of Art.

Hermes’ iconography includes ‘the caduceus (κηρύκειον) … his traveller’s hat (petasos or pilos), with or without wings, & the winged sandals which evoke his quality of speed.’ ¹

Second-favourite in the Greek pantheon &, not coincidentally, he who fathered Pan.
