Goblin Door …

Sarah: Ouch, it bit me!
Hoggle: What’d you expect fairies to do?
Sarah: I thought they did nice things … like grant wishes!
Hoggle: Hmph, shows how much you know.

‘Through dangers untold & hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here’ … to Ann Arbor, Michigan in an attempt to gain entry to the ‘castle beyond the Goblin City.’ Like, presumably behind this Goblin Door.

A spider-web – which, alas, proved elusive to capture with my Droid phone (you can see a glimpse of it just under the stoop) – along with fresh offerings of cigarette butts & bubble gum wads indicated high goblin traffic.

Jonathan B. Wright, discoverer & archivist of Ann Arbor’s mysterious (& child-height) Fairy Doors steadfastly refuses to divulge its location, owing to goblinhood’s bad reputation.

Fairies, they get all the good press.

It is, not coincidentally, the 25th anniversary of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, (from which I’ve quoted).
